Kowloon Alley
This is a revised version of a render that I created as a student. The scene was created in Maya and rendered with mental ray. Due to the size and complexity of the scene, importance sampling with irradiance particles was used instead of Global Illumination and Final Gather, which drastically improved render time. I was asked to write an article entitled "Creating Detailed Urban Scenes" for the March 2015 issue of 3DCreative, in which I discuss my process for creating the image. See the issue here: 3DCreative Issue 115, page 92-97.

This image was also awarded with a 3DTotal Excellence Award and was featured here. The original piece, without much post-processing, was featured in Ceiga, Issue 14. View the original version here: Original Kowloon Alley.

Through the Breach
Two sci-fi planes soar through the clouds. Modeled and textured with Lightwave and Photoshop, and composited in After Effects.

Desert Flyby
A futuristic aircraft flies low over a dry desert airbase. The inspiration for the craft came from a manta ray, an insect, and a bird. The aircraft, ground, and objects were modeled, textured, and rendered in Lightwave 3D. Composited in After Effects.

Vertical Take-Off / Landing (VTOL) Transport
A sci-fi transport aircraft that I designed, modeled, and textured as part of my final college class. It was designed specifically to transport an armored personnel carrier (APC), which I also created for this project. It was modeled and UV'd in Maya and textured with Photoshop and Bodypaint.

Armored Personnel Carrier (APC)
A sci-fi armored vehicle that I designed, modeled, and textured as part of my final class. This vehicle can be airlifted easily with the VTOL aircraft that I also designed. It was modeled and UV'd in Maya and textured with Photoshop and Bodypaint.

Subway Corridor
This is another scene created while attending college. The scene was created in Maya and rendered with mental ray. Importance sampling with irradiance particles was used instead of Global Illumination and Final Gather. Photoshop was used for minor adjustments.

Resilience
This is a piece that I created several years ago using Vue 8.5. Photoshop was used for color correction.

Orbital Sunset
This piece was created in Vue. After Effects was used for color correction and the lens flare.
